A GLOBAL ECOSYSTEM PUSHING FOR CHANGE

our ecosystem

We mobilize and sustain a global ecosystem of allies to invest in the local Haitian system and use lessons from Haiti to drive broader change in the international aid system. Our network includes individuals, funders, academia, government, diaspora, local organizations, advocates, and more.

Research & Learning

Guided by our Research & Advocacy advisory committee, Roots conducts original research and collects and curates knowledge, research, and tools from around the world. The goal of our research is to build a broad base of support for community-led approaches to aid and development, offer true pathways for funders and intermediaries to shift toward more equitable practices, and advocate for more funding to go toward communities and local groups.
To expand our ecosystem and sources of learning, as well as bring our perspective to important conversations, we attend conferences and convenings on aid and development around the world.

We believe in the power of collective action, and take an active role in member groups and coalitions that seek to amplify Haitian voices and push for locally led change.

These groups include:

The Movement for community-led development

InterAction

We also work with partners, including members of the above groups, to organize convenings and events on important issues.
