About
With the amount of news breaking each and every day, the ongoing crisis in Haiti has been lost in the conversation. We can’t forget or ignore what is happening—our friends and partners in Haiti need our support and solidarity now more than ever.
We know times are tough for many, so we’re offering four ways to show your solidarity with Haiti: Learn, Connect, Give, and Share. Each category has lots of opportunities—click on any of the options below for more information! Thanks to pledges from Mark & Jamie Summers and Brenda Huneycutt & Smith Brittingham, if you complete one activity from each of the four categories and complete your Solidarity Passport, you earn Roots a $25 donation.
Our Goal: For 250 people to show their solidarity with Haiti and fill their Solidarity Passport by completing one activity from each category:
- Donate to support our partners' work in Haiti
- Donate to Phase 2 Construction of the La Gonave Community Leadership & Development Center
- Purchase a piece of Haitian metal art
- Purchase a "Kenbe Fem Ayiti" (Stay Strong Haiti) t-shirt, tank, or sweatshirt
- Join our Forest for the Trees monthly giving program
- Share about Support through Solidarity on social media
- Share a Development without Dependency Knowledge Hub resource on social media
- Bring a friend with you to an info or solidarity event
- Get your donation matched by your employer
